Dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is one of the leading causes of vision loss in adults over age 50. It affects the macula, the part of the retina responsible for detailed central vision used for reading, driving, recognizing faces, and using digital devices.
Because dry AMD often progresses gradually, many patients do not notice changes right away. Regular comprehensive eye examinations allow our doctors to evaluate retinal health, monitor disease progression, and determine whether newer treatment options such as Valeda® Light Therapy may be appropriate.
